Stacked shipping containers at a freight terminal

Since 2002

A freight company you can actually reach

Most freight problems are not transit problems. They are information problems. Someone cannot find out where the goods are, or who has them, or when they will move again.

2002

The year we started, in the United Kingdom.

2,000

Shipments a month, give or take, across all five services.

5

Air, sea, road, courier and parcel, on one consignment number.

0

Accounts you need to open before you can send or track a parcel.

Where we came from

Global Nest Logistics opened in the United Kingdom in 2002 as a small freight agent. We booked space on other people’s aircraft and other people’s vessels, for customers who could not get a straight answer out of a carrier about where their goods had got to.

That part of the job has not changed. What changed is where we sit. We moved our operations to the Bahamas, which put us in the middle of Caribbean and US East Coast trade rather than at the end of a long line from Europe. Goods that used to route through two hubs now route through one.

Today we move around 2,000 shipments a month. Some are forty-pallet container loads for importers. Some are a single box a grandmother is sending to family. Both get the same consignment number and the same tracking page.

How we work

01

One number, booking to signature

Every shipment gets a consignment number the day it is booked. That number stays the same whether the goods travel by air, by sea, by truck, or by all three. You check it here rather than chasing three carriers.

02

We quote the whole cost

Freight quotes go wrong when the destination charges arrive later as a surprise. We tell you the port or airport charges, the customs handling and the final road leg at quote stage, even when that makes our number look worse next to someone else’s.

03

We tell you when it slips

Vessels roll. Flights get bumped. Customs holds a container for inspection. When a date moves we contact you with the new one and the reason, rather than waiting for you to notice the tracking page has not changed.

Who we serve

Businesses and individuals, on the same system. A company moving forty pallets a month and a person sending one box home get the same consignment number and the same tracking page.

The difference is billing. Businesses shipping a route regularly get a rate per lane and monthly invoicing. Individuals pay per shipment and do not need an account.
